Eyes Wide Open

Purpose of This Blog

The main purpose of this blog is to help couples plan their wedding with all four eyes wide open. I will go into budgeting, finding vendors, choosing halls, prioritizing things, wedding tips (some that go against the culture), timelines, wedding planning, and much more. My hope with this blog is that couples are more confident in their wedding planning, that they remember the marriage is more important, and for them to work together to create a wedding that they, their families, and guests will all enjoy. I always remind my couples when they book us..."No matter what happens that day, if the power goes out, the flowers don't arrive, the weather is horrible, you're still married. The reception is just a celebration of two individuals becoming one. So don't let random things ruin that day, all that is truly important is you two committing to each other in front of a presider, family, and friends. Everything else is just icing on the cake."

What Qualifies Me to Talk About This Stuff?

Eh, I made a blog and that's good enough ;) But in all seriousness, I've worked with hundreds of couples plan their wedding entertainment over the last decade and I seen a lot. I've worked at halls charging $20 a plate to over $150, worked with good and bad vendors,  wedding parties of all sizes, I've witnessed some amazing traditions, and things I wish I didn't see. Through it all I've gained quite a bit of knowledge that I would like to share with couples planning their weddings. After 11 years in the industry, I'm still learning, but I think I bring a unique perspective that will hopefully help in the wedding planning. Maybe it's the fresh take wedding blog you've been looking for ;)

If there is a subject you'd like me to hit on, comment or email me and I'll do some research and make a post about it.
